"SLIP" ready to air
Post-production on the Bravo!FACT-funded dance film SLIP was completed at Notch in Toronto and is now ready to air on Bravo!. Director Chelsea McMullan and choreographer Yvonne Ng loosely based the piece on the preexisting installation of the same name. The film takes place in Toronto’s Harrison Bathhouse, and the visual, aural and dance elements together create an atmosphere that is both seductive and unsettling. Gaffer Gabrielle Nadeau and I played with varying degrees of coolness in our fluorescent lighting design, and Chelsea had some beautiful ideas on how we could use silhouette to create spaces within spaces in the vastness of the locker room and showers. The project was captured using the Red One and skillfully executed in one shot by stellar Steadicam operator Sean Sealey.
The film was produced through Plural Productions and Vision Entertainment.
Check back soon for the air date on BRAVO! and other upcoming screenings of SLIP.
